The world oceans are of very high importance to mankind in both direct and indirect ways. All oceans are valuable serving as reservoirs of natural resources and also as means of communications and transport. In addition to that, there is a huge number of uses of the oceans, including military. In all of the above noted aspects, the science of oceanography provides people with basic information and provides the opportunities to solve some of man’s important problems.
